Residential Addition
In 2025, we engaged Katanic Built to be the contractor on a three story addition to our home that would house an elevator. The addition was designed by NSPJ Architects, the house’s original design firm. Our goal was to make the addition appear as if it had been completed when the house was built 24 years earlier. We requested that NSPJ recommend three contractors for whom we could obtain bids.
They say first impressions matter. That was certainly the case with Don Katanic. Within a few hours of emailing the plans to the three contractors to obtain bids, Don called me and requested a time to come in, introduce himself, and review the site for the addition. I found Don to be knowledgeable and quality-focused on essential aspects of our home and the project details. He was very responsive in preparing a detailed bid in line with our six-week bid completion deadline.
Throughout, Don approached the project as if our house were his, as regards materials and work quality. The final product achieved our objective. The addition appears seamless with the original quality and aesthetics of our home.
